Welcome Home

Here we are! The new house is underfoot. Do we have much furniture? No. Is there any interesting wall art? No. Have we argued about how to decorate? Yes.  Does our house really look like the above photos? Yes and no.  That was an experiment I did with stuff we already have, but it did not remain in the living room like that.  Always a work in progress!   :)

I am eager to fill the house with Scandinavian/Japanese - mid-century influenced decor (don't we all, it's so trendy now!), but at the same time, we want every object to mean something to us, so it will take a lot of time.

Halfway to New Mexico

These little ACEOs are traveling to their new home. Actually, I was a bit sad to see them go, but more are on the way.

Mmmm...

This recipe is so easy and delicious! It's a regular on our menu year round!

Ingredients:

1 large potato, peeled and diced
1 small cauliflower, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
2 tablespoons curry powder
4 cups veggie stock
1 1/4 cups plain low-fat yogurt
s & p
fresh cilantro for garnish

1. Cook potato, cauliflower, and onion in oil and 3 tablespoons of water for about 10 minutes.
2. Add the garlic, ginger, and curry powder. Stir well and cook for a couple of minutes. Then add the veggie stock and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 20 minutes.
3. Puree in a food processor (we use an emulsion blender) and return to pan. Stir in the yogurt and garnish.

We add some plain rice, too. Since it was hot and humid outside, we served it with vinegared cukes and some cold fresh fruit. I also recommend clementine flavored Izze as a beverage! :)

Fritz Eats the Berries

From the Shop

Some creatures from the Downy Woods...

Hello!

How are you? Some shots of home life...Notice the conspicuously placed soaps in the middle photo?..I made those Jane Austen inspired soaps the other day and decided to sneak them in. :) One of my most treasured things in the world is the hand-cut silhouette of Fritz that Nathan gave me.
